Correct as of October 2020
The practice remains open during the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no indication that healthcare (including dentistry) will be closing with restrictions up to and including Level 5 of the Government’s Living with COVID plan. We apologise that telephone lines can be busy at the moment. E-mail remains the best way to contact the practice at this time. We continue to take precautions in line with national and international guidance and evidence. This aims to minimise the risk of spreading infection, prioritise safe care for our patients and provide a safe environment for our staff. These form part of our standard cross infection control process and include regular cleaning of surfaces, the use of clean sterilised instruments, the use of standard personal protective equipment (gloves, masks, gowns, head coverings and eye protection) and encouraging air flow and ventilation through our surgery.
Please note the following:
1. Please do not attend if, over the last two weeks, you have had any of the following:
- a fever (temperature >38ºC / 100ºF),
- cough or shortness of breath,
- recent contact with a confirmed or suspected person with COVID-19,
- or if you are awaiting results of a COVID-19 test or are known to have COVID-19 at the moment.
2. Please take the following precautions if you are attending the practice:
- sanitise your hands regularly (you will be asked to do so on your arrival),
- stay 2 metres (just over 2 yards) away from staff and other patients where possible,
- if you need to cough or sneeze, use a tissue or your elbow.
3. On arrival at Blackrock Clinic
- Please stay in your car or outside the building and phone us on 01-2881619 to tell us you have arrived.
- Leave any unnecessary personal items (e.g. coats, scarves, hats, bags) in your car where possible.
- Please attend on your own if possible or with one other person if necessary.
- We may carry out part of your visit by phone before and/or after you have been to the surgery.
- We will let you know when to come up to Suite 20 on the third floor of the clinic building (closest to the Rock Road).
- We will ask you to sanitise your hands when you arrive and may take your temperature.
- We request that you use the toilets on the ground floor of the clinic building, rather than the facilities in Suite 20.
Telephone consultations and reviews
- In some instances, appointments can be carried out by telephone. This may be possible for the ongoing management of chronic pain, the delivery of test results and the renewal of prescriptions. Please e-mail the practice (info@blackrockclinicdental.ie) to set up a telephone consultation or review.
Emergency Cover
- Arrangements for dental emergencies remain in place and will be accommodated where possible for patients of the practice.
- Please contact Dr. Freedman or Dr. Lally directly in the event of a dental emergency or call the practice phone (01-2881619) for contact details.
The above guidance will be updated as the situation changes.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during these extraordinary times.
